Junior Programs
Wildwood Racquet Club has a strong commitment to the development of junior players. We start with our beginners and continue with more competitive levels of play. We offer programming starting with three and four year olds and continue development through High Performance.
When it comes to cultivating competitive tennis players, we understand what it takes: Wildwood has been developing junior players for over 47 years. We currently have juniors who have gone on to receive NCAA college scholarships, as well as district, sectional and nationally ranked players. To support our juniors in their athletic development, our professional staff offers group and private lessons.
Wildwood strives to create a positive atmosphere that encourages players to not only work hard but to work together. We care about our players, both as athletes and people and are here to support their efforts both on and off the court.

Littles and Bigs
Parent and Child ages five and under
Parents are invited to join their little ones in a fun and engaging introduction to tennis. This pro-led class is designed for children aged 5 and under, with parents actively assisting their little ones as they learn the basics of the game.

Junior Development
Our Junior Development programs cater to players of all skill levels, from rising 6th graders to seasoned high school athletes. Each participant will receive tailored instruction in core techniques, game rules, and strategic play, with drills designed to match their age and skill level. Our aim is to sharpen their skills for success on middle and high school teams. As players develop, they’ll have the exciting opportunity to transition to competitive play through USTA tournaments.

Wildwood Academy
This program is tailored for the tournament player seeking a high-intensity environment. Participants will focus on refining technique, tactical strategies, and physical conditioning to elevate their game to competitive levels. Drills and match simulations will provide a challenging experience, ensuring players develop a competitive edge. This class will be broken into groups based on current UTR (Universal Tennis Rating).
Beginning Fall 2024, this class will be a 2 day a week class, with no option of 1 day a week. There will be a 30-minute training session with our on-staff personal trainers both days of class. They will be utilizing the workout area during these training sessions. We will be sending out a schedule of the training times at the beginning of every session, once every 2 weeks your training session will last until 6:15pm. There will also be a once-a-month classroom session that will last until 7:00pm. That schedule will also be sent out at the beginning of each session.
Wildwood Academy eligibility requirements
Fall 2024, Session 1:
*Have a minimum of a 1.5 UTR with 100% reliability
Fall 2024, Session 2:
*Have a minimum of a 1.5 UTR with 100% reliability
*Played in a minimum of 4 tournaments with 2 out of 3 set scoring (level 1-6 USTA)
Fall 2024 Session 3 and 4:
*Have a minimum of a 2.0 UTR
* Played in a minimum of 6 tournaments with 2 out of 3 set scoring (level 1-6 USTA)
Academy player recommended additional activities:
*Have a weekly private lesson with a certified professional
*3-5 practice sets during non-tournament weeks
*Serve practice to targets on own, 3+ times a week
*Small group lesson, 3-4 players of like ability

Junior Walk-on
Junior walk-on play is available to members ages 3 – 18, enrolled in a current club sponsored program.
- Junior walk-on courts can be reserved 1 hour (60minutes) or less in advance.
- Walk-on reservations may not allowed 1.0 hour before our posted closing time. Walk on court time will be allowed until reserved courts are finished.
- All players must check in with the front desk.
- Reservations will be limited to one hour or less depending on court availability.
- Any adult, or junior (not currently enrolled in a program), participating with a junior during walk-on play will be charged their position of the court fee. Non-members will use 1 of their 4 guest passes per year.
- Ball machine use is available for walk-on play and will incur a $10/hr charge.
- Reminder: Any person on the court is considered a player and will be charged accordingly.
