Play with a Pro

Play with a Pro is offered as a one-time experience or a 4-week commitment. In either case, 3 players of similar levels will play doubles with a coach. The coach will provide live feedback between points and outline a larger learning goal between games based on the play demonstrated by the participants. 

Play with a Pro classes are scheduled at the convenience of the members participating in the class (with consideration to the coach’s schedule as well), but if the group has committed to a 4-week commitment, all classes within the commitment must be scheduled for the same time each week.

4-week commitment price: $96 per person (no commitment price for non-members) 
Single class price: Member: $30 Non-member $38 

Note: There must be three players registered for 4-week commitments for a Play with a Pro class to be charged at the commitment rate for members. Likewise, there must be three players registered for a one-time class to occur.

Private Lessons

All rates are for 1 hour of instruction.
Rates apply for junior and adult pickleball students.

Note: When determining a price for a non-member lesson of any type, add $12 to the corresponding price listed for that type of lesson. This price is only charged to non-members; it does not change the price for members sharing the lesson with the non-member(s).

Novice & Developmental Opportunities

All novice-level courses are designed to help prepare participants to join Wildwood Racquet + Wellness Club’s Developmental Pickleball League as soon as their learning experience is completed. While considered a league with competitive play, the Developmental League is designed to create a comfortable environment for novices to learn how to play by the correct set of rules and with basic fundamentals. 

Learn Pickleball Fast

Fort Wayne’s premier learning experience for those looking to get involved with pickleball. This 3-week course is offered periodically throughout the year in what are known as “cycles”. Contact the front desk for information on the next cycle.

Price: $59 (bring a friend for no additional cost)
Note: The Developmental Series is the optional follow-up course once Learn Pickleball Fast is completed and is only offered to participants of Learn Pickleball Fast. LPF participants will be provided with information for this follow-up course during their participation in Learn Pickleball Fast.

The Foundation Series (novice players only)

The Foundation Series is Wildwood Racquet + Wellness Club’s primary hub for members who are new to the sport. This course is a 4-week commitment and is offered regularly throughout the year. During your 4 weeks you will not only learn about how to play pickleball but how to best maximize your Wildwood Racquet + Wellness Club membership by learning about open play, leagues, tournaments, permanent court time groups, and other club amenities.

Days and Times: Tuesdays 8:00 am to 9:30 am OR Wednesdays 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm

Pickleball Crash Course (novice and developmental players)

The Pickleball Crash Course is a 2-hr class offered bi-weekly. This class covers the fundamental shots of pickleball, the most necessary rules of play, and scoring for doubles (singles scoring is available upon request).

Price: $32
Note: There must be four players registered for this class to occur. If you are registered for this class and it does not occur, your registration can be rolled over to the next offering or refunded.
Days and Times: First and third Friday (1:00 pm to 3:00 pm) and first and third Saturday of each month (12:00 pm to 2:00 pm)

The Developmental Series (developmental players only)

The Developmental Series focuses solely on understanding how to play points properly using their fundamental skills. The course is a 4-week commitment that will dissect Wildwood’s “Five Shot Script” which includes ideal serve and return strategy, third shot decision-making, how to handle the fourth shot, and the fifth shot drop.

Days and Times: Tuesdays 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm 

Pickleball Open Play

• Complimentary for all Wildwood membership types
• Non-members must pay $15 per visit and must be accompanied by a member to participate in open play
• Open play sessions are available to all levels of play
  • At times, some open play courts may be designated for specific levels of play during open play times and a player may be assigned to specific courts based on their level in Wildwood’s rating system
• Not all courts will be available for open play at all times during an open play session, we ask that you use the paddle rack system when necessary
